PTR was honored to be a runnerup for the NAM Sandy Trowbridge Award for Excellence in Community Service each year
recognizes an NAM-member company that has shown exemplary leadership in serving its community, state or nation,
and is an example of the giving spirit of our nation’s manufacturers and businesses.
"The applicants for the National Association of Manufacturers' Sandy Trowbridge
Award for Excellence in Community Service were outstanding. All of the finalists have demonstrated good
corporate citizenship and community service. PTR Baler and Compactor has are markable record of community
service and continued commitment to their inner city neighborhood. Upon receiving the
nomination PTR President & CEO Michael Savage commented "We are honored to be recognized by NAM as a
finalist for this award… We are committed to our community and the city of Philadelphia."

PA. Speaker of the House Dennis O’Brien recently toured PTR to discuss the state of
manufacturing in the Commonwealth with Mike Savage and his team. Speaker O’Brien is a native
Philadelphian who supports the efforts of manufacturing and the many programs which are linked to that
industry. The meeting revolved around education and the need for area schools to promote careers in
manufacturing. |

PTR Baler and Compactor Company is proud to be a member of PRIDE (Port Richmond
Industrial Development Enterprise). In striving to continually better the community
that surrounds our business, PTR has become involved in an undertaking to fix up
our neighborhood. PRIDE is a group of local small businesses who have come together
to improve the safety and appearance of the area. By collaborating with local
businesses, government and community members, PRIDE aims to revitalize the area in
which we work and live. With Port Richmond a safer, more inviting area, businesses
and residents alike will be more inclined to move or expand into this area. |
