As 2023 draws to a close, we look forward to 2024. Below are the top five trends that are gaining steam and could make big changes to the way we do business in 2024 and beyond.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) This is going to be one of the biggest trends of 2024. Its already being integrated in social media platforms like Instagram. The iPhone operating system is planning on working in generative AI to enhance the user experience.  The discussion on AI is broad. Its going to effect everything from jobs to website development. It comes with many philosophical questions as well. Millions of dollars are being invested in AI companies that haven’t turned a profit yet. Its going to be everywhere – whether we like it or not. So its best to read up on it and how its being developed in your industry.

The Customer Experience There has been a revolution in customer service over the past decade. Making it an experience is key. There are more choices than ever and customers are fickle. Its critical to task your entire team with making sure the customer experience is a good one, every step of the way. The customer experience needs to be nothing short of excellent. Some ways to do this:

• Get feedback right away, and act on it

• Engage on social media in a meaningful way

• Enhance your website experience

• Make it easy for your customers

• Show appreciation

• Individualize your offerings and services

Cybersecurity Sadly, cyber attacks are increasing. And they’re not going away. This is a known. So do everything you need to be prepared. This includes backing up files, installing a firewall and even hiring a firm to help. It couldn’t be more important to prepare and have a back up plan in place. You can also devise ways to not be reliant on certain technology if there is another way to do it.

More demand for cloud storage This ties in with AI. The surge in AI is rapidly increasing the need for cloud storage space. This bodes well for companies that offer that service. However if you need cloud computing for your business, your costs may go up. Take the time now to shop around and see what your options are. Supply and demand!

Self-driving cars This technology is rapidly advancing. Certain cities are testing out self driving cabs. While not perfect, and it may not happen in 2024, self-driving cars will most certainly become the norm eventually. The question is – will it reduce traffic jams?! Also, how will eventually effect the transportation industry (trucking for example).

We look forward to more blog posts in 2024! Thanks for reading.
